Jakarta. Lippo Karawaci, Indonesia’s biggest listed property developer, scooped prestigious awards both at home and overseas in the first quarter of this year for its mega property projects.

The developer announced that it had received the Highly Commended Development Asia Pacific Property Awards 2015, held by International Property Media, this month in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Highly Commended Development Asia Pacific Property Awards 2015 is a prestigious award given by the media organization to international property developers.

This year, Lippo Karawaci, which is affiliated with GlobeAsia through the Lippo Group, received awards in four categories for projects developed by its Lippo Homes.

Lippo’s Rp 2.5 trillion The Embarcadero Park Bintaro – Eastern Wing project in Bintaro, Tangerang won the Residential High Rise Development category. The St. Moritz Makassar, a Rp 3.5 trilion project which sits on a 2.7 hectare land and adopts a mixed used development concept in Makassar, South Sulawesi won the Residential High Rise category.

The Rp200 trillion mega Millenium Village project in the integrated Kemang Village area in South Jakarta scooped an award in the Condominium category.

The developer also took home an award for its Bloomington Kemang Village project in the Condominium category.

At home, Lippo Karawaci was also bestowed the Best Listed Companies 2015 award in the Property and Building Construction sector by Investor Magazine.

“We are very happy to receive the highest awards in the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2015 and Best Listed Companies 2015 in property and building construction sector. The (awards) will strengthen our existence as a developer that will continue to bring a significant contribution to the economy and opens job opportunities for the public in general,” said Jopy Rusli, chief marketing officer of Lippo Homes.

Lippo Karawaci posted a growth in profit in the first three months of this year on the back of recurring revenue, the company said in a statement earlier this month.

According to a filing on the Indonesian Stock Exchange, the company’s net profit grew 23 percent to Rp 417 billion ($32 million) in the January-March period, compared to Rp 339 billion earned in the same three months of 2014.

Both revenue and total spending increased 23 percent year-on-year to Rp 2.4 trillion and Rp 1.3 trillion respectively.

The property developer’s recurring revenue from malls and hospitals also grew  23 percent to Rp 1.3 trillion and contributed  53 percent of total revenue in this year’s January to March period.

Jakarta. Shareholders of Indonesia’s largest modern retailer for fast-moving consumer goods Matahari Putra Prima approved in its annual general shareholders meeting a plan to distribute Rp 193.9 billion ($14.7 million) in dividends, which represent 35 percent of the company’s 2014 net earnings of Rp 554 billion.

Investors of MPP, a Jakarta Globe affiliate through the Lippo Group, will receive a dividend payment of Rp 36 for every share they hold in a date which will be announced later.

“We are pleased to announce the cash dividend of Rp 193.9 billion to our valued shareholders. This demonstrates the company’s on­going commitment to increase shareholder value in ­line with the company’s objective to become the leading FMCF modern retailer in Indonesia,” MPP president director Benjamin Mailool said in a press release on Monday.

Mailool added that the company will continue its aggressive expansion this year by opening at least 10 new Hypermart outlets and further develop its Foodmart and Boston Health & Beauty business units.

“Our commitment to customer satisfaction is focused on further development of the Hypermart format to continued improvement of the customer shopping experience and ensures we continue to capture market share to secure the number one position in the multi-­format fast-moving consumer goods segment,” he added.

Investors also welcomed John Riady and Niel Nielson to the board of commissioners and accepted the directors reports on the company’s achievements and financial results for the 2014 fiscal year.

“We would like to welcome John Riady and Niel Nielson who are now the new members of BOC. These leadership changes continue to strengthen our boards to support the aggressive expansion plans for 2015 and beyond,” Mailool said.

MPP posted a strong profit growth last year, thanks to solid sales and improving store-level productivity.

MPP recently announced that its net income grew 24.5 percent to Rp 554 billion last year. Eliminating one-time gains in 2014, net income increased 58.2 percent to Rp 625.9 billion.

In 2014, MPP grew with the widest store network of 107 hypermarkets, 21 supermarkets, 102 health and beauty outlets, and 37 convenience stores operating in more than 60 cities and  29 provinces across Indonesia.

It has launched the latest concept of Hypermart Generation 7 (G7) in North Lippo Karawaci, on the outskirts of Jakarta. The event was followed by the opening of a second G7 store in Batam in April.

Jakarta. Sarana Menara Nusantara, a listed telecommunications tower operator controlled by Djarum, has acquired 100 percent of iForte Solusi Infotek, a telecommunication infrastructure company affiliated to Saratoga Group.

Sarana Menara took over iForte through its subsidiary Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia.

With the acquisition, Sarana Menara will also take over all of iForte’s bond debts and warrants.

Sarana Menara hopes the transaction will help the company achieve its target to become the biggest telecommunications tower operator in Indonesia.

“We hope the transaction can create a synergy that would speed up the company’s business growth,” Sarana Menara Nusantara corporate secretary Arif Pradana said in a filing to the Jakarta Stock Exchange last week.

The transaction will make up less than 20 percent of Sarana’s total equity, recorded at Rp 4.67 trillion ($354 million) at the end of 2014.

IForte, established in 2002, started its business as an information technology company.

IForte was taken over by Saratoga in 2010 and has since transformed into a telecommunication infrastructure company with a fiber optic network presence and a Micro-BTS license for the Greater Jakarta area.

Meanwhile, 33 percent of Sarana Menara is controlled by Djarum through subsidiaries Tricipta Mandhala Gumilang and Caturguwiratna Sumapala.

Sarana Menara’s biggest clients include Telkomsel, the biggest mobile-phone operator in the country and a subsidiary of the country’s largest telecommunications firm Telekomunikasi Indonesia, and XL Axiata — the country’s second-biggest mobile network operator.
