Bandung Airport Makes Final Preparation
AACC2015, Bandung – Ahead of D-day for the 60th AACC, there are evaluation and cross-sector coordination meetings in preparation of top event on April the 24th 2015, in Bandung City Hall, Monday (20/4).
In preparation for the 60th Anniversary AAC, the Mayor of Bandung Ridwan Kamil conducted several evaluation and cross-sector coordination meetings at Bandung Cityhall on Monday (20/4).
In the meetings, the Mayor paid particular attention to the preparation to be carried out over the remaining four days prior to the Summit. Husein Sastranegara Airport Commander Colonel Pnb. Ardhi Tjahtoko said that all preparations for the conference’s VIPs were in order and the apron and flight facilities were ready for use. Meanwhile, 400 security personnel have been prepared from Air Force and Airport securities. “The security comprises 400 personnel covering Ring-1 for Apron and VIP room, Ring-2 for runway and Ring-3 for airport surroundings,” said Ardhi.
Colonel Ardhi explained that the flight schedule was tentative according to latest info; there were three Garuda Indonesia airplanes and six other airlines from other countries. “Husein Airport is prepared for nine to 10 planes, 11 at most,” he said.
He added that each plane would be given a red, green or yellow sticker to assist passengers and prevent confusion. Colonel Ardhi will cooperate with local security airport of West Java Police, local police, district military command and local government protocol officials to ensure a smooth operation. Upon arrival, the airport will be guarded by distric military command Commandant and Presidential security guards and baggage security will be overseen by airport security.
In addition to the security details, there will be two ambulances, two category six fire fighter units with a total water capacity of between 3,000 and 5,000 litres from Husein Airport. As a part of the Ring-1 security protocol, the portal will be closed as the delegation leaves the airport and flights will be closed from the 23rd of April from 16:00 WIB to 24th of April at 21:00 WIB.
District Military Commander III/Siliwangi Major General of Indonesian Military Dedi Kusnadi Thamim has ordered coordination between institutions on the matter of Ring-1 and Ring-3 security. “There must be a communications system in place for the security detail covering the airport during landing and take off,” said Dedi.
He added, Asia-Africa street will be closed from Preanger crossroads to Mesjid Agung Bandung and branch roads will be closed from the 23rd of April, 18:00 WIB to the 24th of April 2015.
