Membership Categories

  1. Founding Members (by invitation)
  2. Ordinary Members:
    • Corporate : Indonesian based company with Singapore ownership.
    • Individual : Singapore citizens/permanent residents doing business or working in Indonesia.
  3. Associate Members:
    • Corporate : Indonesian companies with business interest with Singapore or Singapore companies in Indonesia.
    • Individual : Indonesian individuals with business interest with Singapore or Singapore companies in Indonesia.
    • Overseas : Singapore company based abroad with business interest in Indonesia.
  • Membership shall be in various categories as follows: (i) Corporate (Ordinary), (ii) Corporate (Associate), (iii) Individual (Ordinary), (iv) Individual (Associate)
  • Corporate (Ordinary) membership shall be open to all firms and companies which carry on business in Indonesia in which there is a direct or a very strong indirect Singaporean interest. The Board’s decision as to any applicant’s qualification for membership under this rule shall be final. Members admitted under this category shall be known as Corporate (Ordinary) Member(s). A Corporate (Ordinary) Member shall be entitled through its duly appointed representative to attend and vote at General Meetings of the SCCI.
  • Corporate (Associate) membership is non voting and shall be open to all firms and companies which carry on business in/or with Indonesia in which there is some Singaporean interest. The Board’s decision as to an applicant’s qualifications for membership for companies under this rule shall be final. Members admitted under this category shall be known as Corporate (Associate) Member(s). Corporate Associate membership shall comprise of Corporate (Associate-Indonesia) and Corporate (Associate-Overseas) members.
  • Individual (Ordinary) membership for shall be open to any Singaporean national working or carrying on business in Indonesia whether or not employed by a company that would qualify for membership under (b) or (c) above. Members admitted under this category shall be known as Individual (Ordinary) Member(s).
  • Individual (Associate) membership is non voting and shall be open to non Singaporean nationals who work for companies or entities in Indonesia which carry on business with Singapore or in which there is some Singaporean interest or who are interested in doing business in Singapore or with companies in Singapore who are doing business or, have an interest, in Indonesia. The Board’s decision as to an Applicant’s qualification for membership for companies under this rule shall be final. Members admitted under this category shall be known as Individual (Associate) Member(s).
  • Applicants for membership shall complete an application form and submit it to the Secretary.
  • Any company, wishing to become a member of the SCCI shall submit its name to the Secretary and shall be required to complete an application for membership in such form as may be determined by the Board. All applicants for corporate membership shall be proposed and seconded by members of the SCCI.
  • A Corporate (Ordinary) Member is entitled to appoint one (voting) representative and may apply for employees in its organization to become additional representative by submitting an application form for such employees to the Secretary. Persons approved within this category shall carry the non voting status and shall be entitled to all other benefits of membership.
  • All applications for membership shall be scrutinise regulated by not fewer than three members of the Board (as appointed by a resolution of the Board). One among the scrutineers shall be elected Head Scrutineer and applicants shall be elected by a single majority vote. In the event of any equality of votes among the Scrutineers, the Head Scrutineer shall have the casting vote. Such decision shall be binding. The Board’s decision as to an applicant’s qualification for membership shall be final.
  • Upon the election of an applicant for membership, notice thereof shall be given to the successful applicant, who shall be furnished with a copy of the Articles, and who shall thenceforth be a member of the SCCI and be deemed to be bound thereby.
  • Memberships shall be unlimited unless the Board otherwise determines.
  • Members can resign from the SCCI by submitting a resignation in writing to the Secretary of the SCCI. Such resignation shall have immediate effect.
  • The Board may, at its discretion from time to time appoint honorary members or honorary advisors on such terms and/or conditions as agreed by the Board for purposes of facilitating the objectives of the SCCI.
